Mandatory Transition to AMLive Portal for BVI Reporting Entities

The Financial Investigation Agency (FIA) has confirmed that, starting 1 January 2026, all BVI reporting entities must file Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) and Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) via the AMLive Portal.

Whilst enforcement has been phased in more slowly than expected, entities are still urged by the FIA to continue to comply without delay.

Reporting entities include license holders regulated by the Financial Services Commission, as well as domestic entities classed as non-financial business institutions.

Key considerations for reporting entities

  • Each reporting entity will receive one complimentary AMLive license.
  • Additional licenses are available at a one-time fee of US$150 per user.
  • Each individual responsible for submitting reports must have their own licence.

AMLive instructions are available on the British Virgin Islands Financial Investigation Agency website.
