Celebrating 25 Years of Excellence: Anne-Marie Crompton on Leadership, Growth, and Global Collaboration

As Trident Trust continues to strengthen its global footprint, collaboration between our offices remains at the heart of our success - driving innovation, sharing expertise, and delivering seamless client service across jurisdictions. Anne-Marie Crompton, Client Service Director, fully embodies this spirit; her 25-year tenure with Group is a testament to her consistent dedication and adaptability, and the power of long-term collaboration.

A Journey of Growth and Resilience

Anne-Marie began her career at Trident Trust at just 19 years old, transitioning from the banking sector to a privately owned trust company where she saw greater opportunity for hands-on experience and professional development. Over the years, she has steadily progressed from trainee to director, completing her STEP qualifications and achieving a CMI diploma along the way.

Today, she leads one of the client services teams in Jersey, working closely with the Head of Client Services to ensure consistently excellent client service. Alongside her client responsibilities, Anne-Marie is a valued member of our senior leadership team in Jersey, contributing to the development of working practices in an ever-changing environment.

"One of the biggest challenges in my role is staying ahead of the constant changes in both our regulatory landscape and the evolving systems and technologies we rely on. To address this, we proactively review and refine our policies and procedures to ensure they remain aligned with current developments and effective in a rapidly changing environment."

Reflecting on her time at Trident Trust, Anne-Marie credits the company’s open-door culture and the people she has worked for her long-standing tenure. “It’s the people that have made me stay,” she says. “There’s always been a willingness to share knowledge and support one another.”

Leadership Rooted in People and Purpose

Over the years, Anne-Marie’s leadership style has naturally evolved, shaped by experience. She emphasises the importance of understanding individual team members’ needs and personalities. “I try to be as open and transparent as possible,” she explains. “Maintaining that open-door policy is essential. It is about adapting to the personalities around you and knowing how best to support each team member.”

Among her proudest achievements are being appointed to her current role, managing a fulfilling career while raising a family, and being invited to visit other Trident Trust offices to play a role in cross-jurisdictional collaboration.

Strengthening Global Ties

As part of Trident Trust’s Leadership Development Programme, Anne-Marie has an upcoming visit to the Singapore office, which is a continuation of her professional journey and an opportunity to apply her 25-year experience and deep institutional knowledge in a global context. The trip enables our long-standing team members to play a key role in strengthening cross-office collaboration and enhance client service across regions. It also presents a valuable opportunity to identify new business development avenues and deepen client relationships in the Asia-Pacific market.

“This trip is about more than business development,” she notes. “It is about building relationships, understanding cultural differences and regulatory environments, and exploring how we can support each other more effectively. Ultimately, this collaborative approach benefits our clients.”

A Culture of Collaboration

For Anne-Marie, collaboration means being approachable, understanding the nuances of each jurisdiction, and fostering clear and open communication. “It is about knowing who to speak to, being available, and respecting each office’s unique context.”

She believes that delivering consistent client service globally depends on responsiveness, attention to detail, and a genuine commitment to relationship-building. “We aim to be the first point of contact for our clients, and when needed, we connect them with the right people in other offices.”

Looking to the Future

Anne-Marie is excited about the future of Trident Trust, particularly the growing synergy within the Asia Pacific region and the continued development of the Jersey team.

Her advice to those starting out in client services is simple yet powerful: “Take pride in your work, be responsive, complete your studies, and be honest about your challenges. Own your mistakes and learn from them.”

The Personal Side

Outside of the office, Anne-Marie enjoys family life, socialising, running, and boxing – activities that help her stay grounded and energised. When asked to sum up her 25-year journey in one word, she pauses before choosing: “Interesting.”

A fitting description for a career marked by steady growth, adaptability, and a deep commitment to people - both clients and colleagues.
