A New Register of Overseas Entities Owning Property in the UK

Following the enactment of the United Kingdom’s Economic Crime (Transparency and Enforcement) Act 2022, the UK Government recently announced that effective 1 August 2022 overseas entities holding UK real estate are subject to the requirements set out in the legislation and will have six months from 1 August 2022 to comply.
