Luxembourg Passes New Law Establishing Register of Beneficial Owners

The Luxembourg Government has enacted legislation that requires all entities registered with the Luxembourg Trade and Companies Register (Registre de Commerce et des Sociétés, or RCS), to obtain and hold information on their ultimate beneficial owner(s) and provide this information to a new register of beneficial owners that will be maintained by the RCS. The law enters into force on 1 March 2019 and affected entities will then have until 1 September 2019 to comply with its requirements.
